This Night

Blotting the last streaks of wafer clouds, darkness congeals
whether to share each other’s heartaches
or, to search for coveted dreams that went astray
The jasmines of the canopy start blooming one after another.
Cooping the boisterous gaiety of the little butterflies
Between the bangled hands,
I must smoothly unroll the silence.
Leaving, for once,
the burden of memories,
unrealised dreams and the daily grind
to themselves
I yearn to live up this night!
Contrary to ‘snail’ing within,
I want to run off from myself
wafting,
shredding the adamant immutable fears
to smithereens.
As the cool-through-the-day chalky designs
try to shed their indolence
Under the occasional whiff of breeze…
I must sit up a while, initiate to learning, once again,
gleaning the corals strewn around the courtyard!
Drawing the translucent curtains of heartaches aside
I must kiss Him for five minutes, at least
bidding to introduce this long lingering night.
Under the blowing vault of heaven
wildflowers toss harvesting the wind.
My palm senses a wonted dear touch.
Here it is! The warmth of just-extinguished lamp!
I can now rest assured for the night!
Before a dash of light wakes up my slumber
I must live this night to its full!

ఈ రాత్రి
-నిషిగంధ
మబ్బుతునకల ఆఖరి చారికను అదృశ్యం చేస్తూ చీకటి చిక్కబడుతుంది.
ఆకాశమల్లెలు ఒక్కొక్కటిగా విరబూస్తాయి
నాలుగు మాటల్ని చెప్పుకోడానికో
లేక తప్పిపోయిన కలల్ని వెదుక్కోడానికో!
కేరింతల సీతాకోక చిలుకల కలవరింతల్ని
గాజుల చేతులక్రింద పొదివి పట్టేసి
నిశ్శబ్దాన్ని మృదువుగా పరిచేయాలి.
జ్ఞాపకాల శకలాలనీ … సుదూర స్వప్నాలనీ
పగటిపాట్లనీ
వాటంతట వాటికి వదిలేసి
ఈ రాత్రిని జీవించాలని ఉంది!
నాలోకి నేను కాకుండా
నా నించి నేను దూరంగా…
నిశ్చలభయాల నిర్వికారాన్ని
ముక్కలుగా వేరుచేసి విసిరేస్తూ
తేలికైపోవాలి!
పగలంతా ఒద్దికగా కూర్చున్న ముగ్గు
ఉండుండి వీచే గాలికి
ఒళ్ళు విరుచుకుంటుంటే …
వాకిలి పొడవునా రాలిన పారిజాతాలతో
కాసేపు అక్షరాభ్యాసం చేసుకోవాలి!
మనస్థాపాల మసక తెరలను తప్పించి
అతన్ని ఐదునిమిషాలన్నా చుంబించాలి.
ఈ నింపాది రాత్రిని పరిచయం చెయ్యాలి.
వీచే నింగికింద
గాలిని కోస్తున్న గడ్దిపువ్వులు
అరచేతినంటిన ఆత్మీయ స్పర్శ.
ఇదిగో… ఇప్పుడే కొండెక్కిన దీపం వదిలిన వెచ్చదనం…
ఈ రాత్రికో భరోసా దొరికినట్లే !
గుప్పెడు వెలుగు ముఖాన్ని తట్టిలేపేలోగా
ఇక ఈ రాత్రిని పూర్తిగా జీవించాలి !
