The Homemaker

– L N Kolli

She rises in the hush
Quite before the dawn
A quiet hand threading warmth
Through morning’s first light

She moves unseen—
The tinkle of bangles
The soft rustle of linens
The whisper of a broom
The stir of a simmering pot
Her rhythm is the heartbeat of home
The silent song that holds it whole

No title she does wear
No paycheck marks her work
No name engraved in brass or stone
Yet her hands craft the pulse of every room
Her touch woven into the air we breathe

She is the keeper of warmth
Of days gently smoothed and stitched
Not for praise, nor measured by time
But in the strength of lives she cradles close
In the quiet grace of love unspoken

But a handful of self respect
And a scoopful of love
She expects nothing
Her motto in life—
Making home a luminous one
