Tempest of time (poems)

-Kondapalli Niharini

Everyday Battle

Plants in front of house
haven’t woken up yet.
Seeing the drowsiness of flowers,
they have slowed down a bit.
The same is the case with breezes
coming from the neem tree.
Sparrows too haven’t woken.
Two legs have started moving;
a hand staff rendered assistance.
A street dog standing nearby,
is not in the mood to notice anything.
Green grass on either side of the path
is coming along with me!
The purple hue of the sky
hasn’t thickened nor unfolded.
No song has entered the world
that is anxiously awaiting a red hue.
While darkness is falling as drops
to not give much time for sleep,
all the colours are uniting,
bidding farewell to the clean blue sky.
Before the colourful dawn’s affection
reached the world, hope prevails
though no breeze of raga is blowing.
Feet are moving to cool down the heat,
to compensate for the restiveness of last night.
The feet are walking
reminiscing the tales of chasing hares!
The walk is needed for controlling
diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes.
So it’s making people walk;
pushing them, the heart as well.
The walkers get new friends in the process;
they all pant during the morning walk.
Neither to challenge the world nor to win a war,
but to face the inner foes, endless wonders
effacing every cell of the body!
This return journey is a silent voice of the future,
a tireless war, an awareness, an inner spirit.
